All of our Counsellors are fully qualified and each has a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

They work in accordance with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists Code of Practice for Standards & Ethics. This includes receiving regular ongoing supervision and continual professional development.

They have all been fully CRB checked.

Michelle Maton Photo

  • Barbara Weller is a qualified and experienced Counsellor, who managed the Bereavement Services for Fair Haven Hospices for nine years. She provided individual and group therapy for patients and their families, adults and children.

    Barbara also developed a training programme in Bereavement & Loss which was widely accessed by schools, health professionals and volunteer services. Prior to this she initiated the Counselling Services at West Ham Mission in Hackney, after 25 years in the computer industry as programmer, analyst, project manager and systems auditor.

  • Michelle Maton is a qualified, experienced counsellor and has worked as part of the Bereavement Support Team at Fair Havens and Little Haven Hospice since 2001.

    She is also a qualified Advocate and works with children and young people in long term care who have little or no family contact and have experienced significant loss and trauma. In addition Michelle worked for a year in Bullwood Hall Women's Prison with Young Offenders, on behalf of the Youth Justice Board.

    Michelle is a Family Support Worker with Extended Schools, working closely with other Professionals to provide holistic support to 30 schools.

  • Janet Cheal is fully qualified and has worked for Bridge Counselling and the NHS. She deals with all aspects of client issues including addictions, sexual abuse and rape, and has specific training in Understanding Child Abuse and working with Special Needs.

    Our Counsellors have enhanced CRB checks and work in accordance with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy Code of Practice for Standards & Ethics. This includes receiving regular ongoing supervision and continual professional development.
